Lo4: Be able to create a proposal using converging technologies to exploit the identified new markets
The app will be available on multiple devices and platforms as both an app and website, this is to ensure that anyone can access the app whether on the go or at home. The application will be similar to music streaming services such as SoundCloud and Spotify in which users can create an account and add song and playlists to their profile. Our service will be similar to SoundCloud in that, users will not need to use distribution services such as Distrokid or Tune-core. Prosumers who want to share their content will be able to upload it directly onto our app. However, they will only get a certain number of uploads until they have to pay for the premium service. The app will be available on Apple, Windows, Linux, and Android products, this will be done so that our product can reach a large amount of our target audience. The app will be free to download but users will be able to buy a premium subscription that will give users more access to certain features, and also get rid of advertisements. Advertisements will only appear as banners and thirty second ads that will play when the user has listened to a certain amount of music. However the premium subscription will get rid of these and give the user more sound kits and music editing software, similar to FL Studio premium subscriptions.
For my product I will need to use below the line marketing methods such as sponsoring content creators and influencers to advertise my product to their audience. This is because we need to market our product to a mainstream audience, which would be people who use these services to listen to music and their favourite artists. However, sponsoring artists and producers would allow us to target a more niche market of people who like creating music and would use the application to create music and upload it to our app. We can use Web 3.0 techniques such as semantic web technology and artificial intelligence which would allow us to market our product to specific people online who enjoy and make content similar to what our application is offering. This would be either as banners on apps and websites that specialise in music, or adverts that play on videos that cover the same content as what we market. To market our product to a more mainstream target audience we would need to use above the line marketing methods such as advertising our products in radio adverts that can play on both the radio and streaming service. Also, we can use posters on busses and in cities and banners on websites and apps. In addition to this, we can use synergy to merge with a similar company such as Tidal, SoundCloud, or Spotify. By doing this we can advertise our product directly to our target audience and share the profits of our products with the company we are with.
